Fitzsimmons Dance Factory Celebrates National Dance Day

July 30, 2016

The annual celebration of National Dance Day takes place today, Saturday, July 30th! The first celebration of National Dance Day began in 2010 by Nigel Lythgoe, co-creator of "So You Think You Can Dance" and co-president of the Dizzy Feet Foundation. We had the pleasure to watch our alumni, Teddy Coffey, make it to the Top 14 of SYTYCD during season 11! Additionally, we were proud to have another alum/teacher, Andrea Miller, make it to Vegas week during season 12! After having two of our alums featured on SYTYCD, we feel strongly participating in this wonderful event. The Dizzy Feet Foundation (DFF) is an organization that embraces dance as a fun way to stay healthy, by joining venues in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Orlando to create a huge celebration. Our studio may not be located near any of the host venues, but that doesn't mean we can't participate in this fun-filled day! Each year, a dance combination is released for the public to learn. We decided to take part in learning the combo and here's what we created! Please enjoy this video honoring National Dance Day, featuring some of the FDF faculty and students!
